Faces of Love May 2016

On May 7, 2016, at the Markham Missionary Church, 5438 Major Mackenzie Drive E, we celebrated the many faces of love with songs including For the Beauty of the Earth by John Rutter, The Ground by Ola Gjeilo, Five Hebrew Love Songs by Eric Whitacre, O Salutaris Hostia by Eriks Esenvalds as well as classic love songs such as The Glory of Love, Embraceable You and a medley from West Side Story. Guest artists were Oleksandra Fedyshyn, violin, and sopranos Mira Solovianenko and Anna Bateman. 

Glad Tidings Dec. 2016

Our December 2016 Christmas celebration featured John Rutter’s Gloria. Along with this superb piece of 20th century music, we sang  contemporary carols such as Unto Us a Son is Born, by Trevor Manor, O Lux Beatissima by Howard Helvey, and Amy Grant’s Breath of Heaven, as well as traditional seasonal treasures by Sir David Willcocks. Our guest artists were Mira Solovianenko, soprano, Joan Andrews, flute and The Albury Gardens Brass Quintet. We performed this concert at Markham Missionary Church.

Here's to Song May 2017

 Here's to Song, our upcoming May 12 (7:30PM) and May 13 (2:30PM) 2017 concerts, will be a celebration of Canada 150th Anniversary.   Village Voices will be joining with Men of Note as well as the Jubilate Singers to present a 120-voice extravaganza of Canadian music surrounding the central piece Missa Pax by Timothy Corlis at St Maurice and St Verena Coptic Church in Markham. Tickets are available through the Men of Note's website or at the door. 

In addition, on June 3, 2017, we will join voices again with Men of Note  to sing Missa Pax in the Jubilate Singers' last concert of the season. More information will soon be posted on the Jubilate Singers' website.
